After 20 months of human relationships breakdown, isolation and social distancing, the West Orange Arts Center ROOMS (abbreviation of masterpieces): Messages in the street Art The exhibit provides visitors to the gallery with visual sensations and an opportunity to reconnect with others, according to county officials.
Celebrating creativity, freedom and raw emotion, 29 local artists from the street arts community in New York and New Jersey are sharing their work, a treasure in this time of disconnection that COVID has demanded.
According to county officials, visitors also have the rare chance to meet artists on the weekends ahead, given the elusive nature of street performers.
Work in ROOMS can be confrontational or funny and often defies categorization.
On display are creations found on traditional and non-traditional fabrics (cardboard, serving trays, aerosol cans).
Officials say the exhibit also includes a collaboration between artists, illustrating how art provides a collective connection to help us grow.
This exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the work and expressions of artists seen throughout the New York metropolitan area.
PIECES Message in Street Art – which can be seen at the West Orange Arts Center until November 28 – showcases the work of 29 street artists, inviting the viewer to enjoy and providing an opportunity to reconnect.
