Kamal Yaknour’s “A Lover in Love with Egypt” Art Exhibition Launches at Al-Hanager Cultural Center on May 22

CAIRO – May 22, 2022: On May 28 at 7 p.m., the Adam Hanin Hall of the Al-Hanager Cultural Center will host the exhibition “A Lover in Egypt” for the late visual artist Kamal Yaknour.

Yaknour was born in Cairo in 1925. His artistic career began after obtaining a diploma from the Leonardo da Vinci Institute in photography in 1952, in addition to the diploma from the Leonardo da Vinci Institute in decoration in 1956, and d degree in advertising in 1960.

After that, he joined the free department of the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1945, and also graduated from the American University in Cairo, English Department.

Among the artistic tasks in which he has participated is his work in 3 documentaries under the titles of contemporary Egyptian artist, the artist and the Egyptian countryside and art and the relationship between environment and heritage.

Yaknour is considered one of the pioneers of the contemporary Egyptian school, which takes its formative language from the environment and heritage and expresses the mood, thought, traditions and concerns of the Egyptian people in an honest and without exaggeration.

Yaknour died in 2000.
